Can I stop lending requests in ILLiad during institution closures?

Steps to make your institution a non-supplier when your institution is closed

Answer

  1. To immediately turn off lending in ILLiad until you are ready to enable lending again:
  • In the ILLiad Client, click on the System Tab at the top of the Client.
  • Click on Policies Directory. A window will open and log into your institution's Policies Directory.
  • On the Profile tab, look for OCLC Supplier about halfway down the page.
  • Change it from Yes to No.
  • Save the change.

Note: The library will remain set to Non-Supplier until the OCLC Supplier setting is switched back to Yes and you save the changes.

  1. To schedule specific day(s) and time to turn lending on and off automatically.
  • In the ILLiad Client, click on the System Tab at the top of the Client.
  • Click on Policies Directory. A window will open and log into your institution's Policies Directory.
  • On the Schedule tab, look for the section labeled Closures.
  • Click on the +Add button to open the form.
  • You must fill out Name (name of closure), Type (closure type), and start date.
    • Note: To automatically become a supplier, an End Date is required.
  • Select No for OCLC Supplier
  • Notes (optional and viewable on the schedule tab.)
  • Save
